I have been writing, photographing, and in every other way possible, oversharing my love of food and adventure with the internet since the early days of social media and WordPress.
This doesn't mean I have been tucked away in a kitchen! I go where the food calls me. Have spoon, will travel!
Before ThermoKitchen, these stories were published in magazines, commercial websites, insert sections of the Sydney Morning Herald, Tourism Authority brochures and websites, and on previous websites I have owned and since sold.
Some stories still make me smile today!
Others, like my masterclass with the cooking legend Margaret Fulton, in her Balmain home, are bittersweet. It was an opportunity I would never swap, and it is now deleted from the internet, history gone.
My Food Adventures pages will share a little of what came before ThermoKitchen. The stories of chefs and legends that shape my repertoire. Some of the behind the scenes action as I untangle and prise a long-held family recipe from a homestay.
Or maybe it's just some good old mischief and mayhem I have gotten up to with a fellow foodie in the name of experimentation and pushing the envelope. Let's start with something a little devious. Would you choose a Mouse Burger & Squeaky Fries from a menu?
Before you answer the question, I should warn you that the last time this particular chef cooked for me, the dish was very much a molecular gastronomical treat with shades of Heston Blumenthal. Nothing was as it seemed. So I really couldn't have known what I had in store.
