New Thermomix TM7 Pricing
What is the Thermomix TM7 price in Australia? We know the TM7 cost is $2,649. That is only $70 more than the TM6 was selling for at $2579. This has to be considered very good value considering all the upgrades to technology, hardware, and software.

Thermomix TM7 Functions
I asked this question in the article 18 months ago. "What would you like the new TM7 to do that the TM6 doesn't?
As time moves on, the new functions and features of the TM7 will be revealed.
Cool Touch Bowl
We know the TM7 has an outer, removable thermal protective cover that makes the new Thermomix bowl cool to the touch. This will be a plus for families concerned about the potential of burns from touch. The extra layer also adds insulation, which keeps food hotter longer.

3 New Functions
The TM7 has 20 functions whereas the TM6 had 17 functions. These new functions are:
- Open Browning
- Steaming
- Opening Cooking
Lid Off Cooking
Two new functions allow the TM7 to operate without the lid. One of the functions allows the sauteing of onions, garlic, etc. With the Thermomix TM7 it is now possible to view the contents of the bowl as it cooks.
Screen Size
The TM7 Thermomix screen is huge, 10 inches, whilst the TM6 was 6.8 inches! That is just so much bigger than its predecessors!

Quieter
Quieter motor. There is a reduction in the noise compared to the TM6.
Varoma
A 45% larger Varoma allows for steaming greater quantities of food. New Black model.
Recipes
200+ pre-loaded recipes on the Thermomix TM7 compared to 120 recipes on the TM6.

Thermomix TM7 Questions
I know my life would not be the same without a Thermomix on my bench. I hate going to someone's place and having to cook everything by hand. It's so tedious.

I have the TM5 and didn't upgrade to the TM6 because it didn't come with a larger bowl. We are a family of seven, and when we have guests, we often cook for 10 to 16 people. Unfortunately, the Thermomix just isn't suitable for large dishes or for doubling recipes. I was considering purchasing the Magimix, but I heard rumors that the TM7 would be released by the end of 2024 or early 2025, so I decided to wait, hoping it would have a bigger bowl and possibly a see-through lid.
Now that the TM7 has been released, I am extremely disappointed. I will just buy the Magimix instead. I don’t often use the built-in scale because I prefer to pre-weigh my ingredients for quicker meal preparation. Additionally, I rarely use the Cookidoo recipes, so not having access to them isn't a loss for me. Overall, the Magimix offers much more than the TM7, making it a better choice for my needs.
Yvonne Buters says
Agree with the comments re the bigger bowl. This was why I recommended the Magimix to my sister. She has been really happy with it. Personally the varoma cannot ercome this eg soups.
I haven't bought the slicer but might consider it if it could dice. I have a TM 5 not a 6

I am cooking for a family of 7 and with friends 10. I need the bigger bowl. A proper browning function as it just does not taste the same due to the lack of fond like it does when I brown on the stove or in my instant pot. I would also love a warming only without the blade moving to assist with rising of dough. And I would love a different option to stir food that doesn’t involve the blade and has more of a proper stirring function.
Julie Carlyle says
Hi Jen
WOW! I don't think any machine would manage to cook for that big of a group. I cater to large numbers, but as a consultant I have earned a second machine. Maybe that's an option for you.
Thanks for commenting

Jezza says
If a Tm7 does get released, hopefully it’ll address these items highlighted in this comparison, Magimix cook expert vs Thermomix tm6. The main difference being capacity and a see thru top.
Any thoughts?
Julie Carlyle says
Hi Jezza
A see through lid and a larger capacity bowl would be nice. But if Thermomix wanted to bring out a see through lid they wouldn’t need to change the whole machine.
Having said that, I make use of the Varoma in my cooking and I never need a bigger bowl. I’m Cooking for an 18 year old boy, 16 year old, hubby and myself.
Thank you for your comment.

The Magimix actually isn’t a bigger bowl. It may be bigger but the useable volume for fluid or cooking is either the same as TM6 or smaller
Courtney says
I felt very the same to Angela. I had a 31, then got a 5. I love Thermomix but I now have a family of 7(even family of 5 it was a struggle) I’m desperately hoping a TM 7 has increased capacity. I know my 5 still helps with prep etc but I don’t use it as much unless I want to cook dinner twice. Alot of the other copy cats have larger capacity so I do hope TM is working with this. I am holding off until a 7 is out! I am desperate for all the functions of the 6 but simply can’t do it as it is a luxury item not a necessity with current capacity.
Julie Carlyle says
Hi Courtney
I can understand what you’re saying. A bigger bowl for larger families would be a good option. Knowing the recipes that make big batches of food is also a factor. I have a recipe on my site that makes 2 kilo of pulled pork in the Varoma. When the pork is nearly cooked you can toss in some mini corn cobs and serve with coleslaw and wraps. This is a really easy meal and I’ve served 10 adults with this easily. https://www.thermo.kitchen/thermomix-pulled-pork-recipe/
The Varoma is my secret weapon🤣

Marli says
I’m hoping bigger capacity also. I have the 5 won’t get the 6 but hoping 7 has a bigger bowl..
Family of 5 and the meals are just not enough unless you’re cooking multiple times on it.
Julie Carlyle says
Hi Marli
I do understand this sentiment. Have you tried using the varoma to add steamed vegetables whenever you are cooking something below in the bowl. I use my Varoma almost everytime I cook so I can bulk dinner out and add more greens 🙂
Happy Cooking
Julie
Angela Giordimaina says
I have a TM5. At the moment there is a trade in offer where I can upgrade to the TM6. Last time I traded my TM31 to the TM5 the TM6 came out. It was too late and I couldn’t afford that just a few months after paying to upgrade and trade in to the TM5.
Has this offer to trade in and upgrade to the TM6 in preparation for the release of the TM7?
Julie Carlyle says
Hi Angela
I absolutely promise you that Thermomix has learned from the mistakes of the past. They are not preparing to launch a TM7. If there was something coming we would have heard a lead up plan. Nothing has is in the pipeline, not even in Germany.
I would love to help you with your trade up if you aren’t currently speaking with a consultant.
Kind Regards
Julie Carlyle
