These deliciously sticky pork burgers are the perfect barbecue food! The pork patty is made in the Thermomix using spices, herbs & sauce then grilled & glazed for the perfect burger experience!

Why have a plain beef burger when you can try my Asian spiced pork burger with sticky Hoisin sauce? This burger is absolutely bursting with flavour? I've included ingredients such as ginger, garlic, lemongrass, Chinese 5 spice, and a little bit of chili in the pork patty. The burger is fabulous served with a zesty Apple Slaw and a smokey BBQ sauce.

Step by Step Thermomix Burger Method

The Thermomix makes short work of preparing the spices for the burger patties. The process is a simple as adding the aromatics and blitzing them for a few seconds. This ensures they are chopped finely enough to be distributed evenly through the mince.

Once the spices have been broken down I like to add the remaining ingredients and combine all the ingredients in the Thermomix using the Knead function. I find utilising this mode mixes the mince with the other ingredients quickly, without causing any damage to the structure of the mince. It's also so much easier than mixing the mince patty ingredients by hand!

Pulled Pork Burger

Have you tried my pulled pork recipe? I've had this recipe up on my site for years and it is still one of my favourites. Making a whole pulled pork in the Thermomix is easy and means you will have loads of leftover meat for sandwiches, wraps, tacos, and of course Pulled Pork Burgers!

Equipment

  • Thermomix
  • BBQ
  • Burger Press

Ingredients

  • 2 kaffir lime leaves
  • 1 red chili
  • 25 g garlic
  • 10 g ginger
  • 1 lemongrass stalk white only 3-4cm
  • 20 g coriander root washed thoroughly to remove dirt
  • 160 g brown onion
  • 85 g hoisin sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ยฝ teaspoon Chinese 5 spice
  • ยผ teaspoon white pepper
  • ยผ teaspoon salt
  • 2 long green shallots finely sliced
  • 80 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 kg minced pork

Glaze

  • 30 g Hoisin Sauce *Optional

Instructions

  • Place lime leaves, chili, garlic, ginger, lemongrass, and coriander root in TM bowl. Blitz 3 sec/Speed 9.
  • Scrape down the bowl. Repeat 3 sec/Speed 9.
  • Add onion to the TM Bowl. Chop 3 sec/speed 6.
  • Add hoisin sauce, egg, Chinese 5 Spice, salt, pepper, and chopped shallot. combine 5 sec/Speed 5.
  • Add breadcrumbs to one side of the TM bowl, then add the pork mince.
  • Place the lid on the TM bowl, replace the MC with the spatular.
  • Engage Dough mode for 1 minute. Use the spatular to help the mixture combine as the machine processes the burger mince.
  • Use the Tupperware Burger Press to make 9 burger patties. Alternatively, divide the mixture into 9 balls and flatten, it into jumbo burger patties.
  • Cook the burger patties on a BBQ or frying pan.
  • When the burgers are cooked use the reserved sauce to brush over the burgers. Flip once and remove from the heat.

Notes

NOTE:
I like to start glazing the burgers once they are partway cooked.  Glazing too early can cause the sugars in the sauce to burn before the burgers are cooked through.
BUT, If you leave it too late to glaze and don't cook off the sauce you won't get the same delicious sticky caramelization.
If you are making extra burgers I recommend using the Tupperware Burger Press to make and store the burger patties. Once the patties are frozen they can be removed from the press and stored in a ziplock bag.

      Hi Eloide
Thank you for your lovely comment. Iโ€™m pleased you like the recipe. I actually donโ€™t have the recipe handy. I will have to find it and adjust it for the Thermomix.

Hi, I'm Julie, a recipe developer, published cookbook author, and registered nutritionist. My first love has always been cooking and food. ThermoKitchen is where my love of food combines with a "lazy streak" as I utilise my favourite appliance, the Thermomix! I discovered Thermomix in 2014 and loved it so much I became a consultant for the brand.
