Rich creamy lemon sauce with chunks of chicken. This pasta dish is the perfect midweek recipe for the family. Cooked in your Thermomix and on the table in under 40 minutes. My recipe can also be served with garlic bread and extra greens.

The other day I asked my daughter what I should cook next for the website.
She said, "I want a chicken pasta dish."
I must be the only person in the world who doesn't like pasta! Now don't get me wrong, I love gnocchi, but pasta... I have no love. I intended to disregard her advice completely but realised she had a point. She wanted a creamy chicken sauce with the luscious texture found inside a chicken pie.
My mind went to a flavor I love, creamy lemon. Voila! The beginning of a recipe that now has 100% family approval. My Thermomix creamy lemon chicken pasta recipe ticked the boxes for everyone.
Creamy Lemon Chicken Notes
Here is a quick look at what you will need for this recipe. You won't find any tricky ingredients, most of these will be in your pantry already.
Stock Powder: I use Massel chicken stock powder. This is not a Massal sponsored post, I just prefer this brand.
Whole Black Peppercorns: I usually grind peppercorns for my recipes in the Thermomix as the result is a more intense flavour. You can simply add black pepper at the end of the recipe if you prefer ground pepper.
Chicken: Always use chicken thigh fillets, not chicken breast in the Thermomix Bowl.
Pouring Cream: This is also sometimes called fresh cream. Unlike thickened cream, it does not contain additives such as gelatin to keep it firm.
Thermomix Chicken Pasta Serving Suggestions
This dish is deliciously hearty and doesn't need too much added to be a complete meal. For a lighter meal or stretch the dish to serve 6-8 people you can add some vegetables.
Vegetables such as broccolini, thinly sliced carrots, snow peas, and zucchini can be added to the Varoma. Place the Varoma on the Thermomix Bowl in the last 8 minutes of cooking. Remember not to overcrowd the Varoma and allow holes for the steam to escape.

ThermoServer Cooked Pasta
Did you know you can "cook" pasta perfectly in your ThermoServer? The beauty of using this method is it leaves your Thermomix free to prepare the main dish while your ThermoServer does the work.
Using the ThermoServer for pasta is easier than watching pasta boil on the stove while you're cooking the main dish. This is another example of hands-free cooking. Working smarter, not harder.
This method of cooking pasta also reduces the chance of overcooking pasta because a consistent temperature is maintained. It is also gentler than boiling so the pasta is intact at the end of the cooking time.
ThermoServer Pasta Method
I find pasta usually takes 15 - 20 minutes to cook using this method.
- Fill the kettle with water and boil.
- Meanwhile, fill the Thermoserver with hot tap water to pre-warm.
- Once the kettle has boiled, tip out the tap water.
- Add 250-300g of pasta to the ThermoServer.
- Pour boiled water over the pasta.
- Fill the ThermoServer with boiling water until it's 1-2 cm from the top.
- Add ยฝ teaspoon of salt and stir the pasta so it doesn't stick.
- Place the lid on the ThermoServer.
- Leave the pasta to stand for 15 minutes.
- Stir the pasta and remove a piece to check.
- If it needs longer to cook leave it a further 5 minutes.
- Once the pasta is cooked drain immediately to stop the cooking process.
FAQ Creamy Chicken Pasta Sauce
No, please never use chicken breast in the Thermomix. 9 times out of 10 it will shred and be dry. Always use chicken thigh fillets.
As a guide, if you have a small chicken thigh fillet you will notice half is small, and the other half is chunkier. Cut the smaller part into two pieces are the larger in 4. That will make 6 pieces of chicken from a chicken thigh fillet. Sometimes both sides are chunky, in that case, cut each side into 4 pieces.
If you find your chicken pieces are very small once the dish is cooked you have probably cut them too small to begin with. Next time cut the chicken into bigger chunks. If not, you may have forgotten to engage the reverse blade.
Absolutely! Choose whatever shaped pasta you would prefer for the dish.
If you want a subtle lemon flavour simply use the rind and omit the juice. You can always add a tablespoon of juice at the end if necessary.
No, it's best to leave the recipe as it is for the Thermomix bowl. If you would like more vegetables you can add them to the Varoma in the last 8 minutes of cooking.
I have found a Thermal food storage container that is more insulated and secure than the ThermoServer. It is also a lot cheaper. To take a look follow the link for White Thermal Food Warmer

Hello. I have recently inherited a TM5 & discovered your website. Do you think I could substitute the cream for sour cream in this recipe? Thank you!
Brett Carlyle says
Hi Katrina,
I'm pleased you have found my site and enjoying your TM5.
I think you should be fine to swap the cream for sour cream, although it will taste a little different and you made need to add a drop of water to thin the sour cream so it isn't too thick. If the sauce is thick it is more likely to shred the chicken and stick to the bottom.
I would be interested to know how you go.
Happy cooking

Dear Julie love the method for this lemon chicken and the pasta and will try. I bought that Pyrolux thermal server you recommend a few years ago, and like you find it is much better than the Thermomix one for transporting!
